    • The Hahn’s Macaw (Diopsittaca nobilis) is properly known as the Red Shouldered Macaw and is one of the smallest members of the Neotropical Macaw branch of the parrot family. It lives in tropical lowlands, swamps and savannah in Venezuela, Bolivia, the Guianas, Brazil and southeastern Peru. The Hahn’s is technically a subspecies along with the Noble Macaw, but Hahn’s is the term most commonly encountered in captive bred birds.These parrots are generally around 30cm in length and weigh 165gm with the typical long narrow tail and large head seen in larger macaws. Their lifespan is around 30-40 years.The Hahn’s Macaw (Diopsittaca nobilis) is appropriately known as the Red Shouldered Macaw and is probably the littlest individual from the Neotropical Macaw part of the parrot family. It lives in tropical marshes, bogs and savannah in Venezuela, Bolivia, the Guianas, Brazil and southeastern Peru. The Hahn’s is in fact a subspecies alongside the Noble Macaw, however Hahn’s is the term most ordinarily experienced in hostage reproduced winged animals.
